Flat Screen Monitors on Campus
The flat screen monitors on campus in Dublin and at the Christiansburg site are devoted to classroom instruction (if located in classrooms) and for sharing campus information. The Student Lounge in Martin hall, however, is equipped with various audio/visual capabilities for presenting speakers and other entertainment for the campus.
There are three flat screen monitors in the Student Lounge; one is a projector, while the other two are dedicated to local campus information and television channels for news and cultural programming at the discretion of the Student Activities Coordinator. For more information or make programming requests contact or visit the Student Activities Coordinator in the Student Lounge.
Food - Vending
Refunds of monies lost in vending machines can occur in one of two ways. The first way is to visit the Student Activities office and ask for a refund. The second way is to provide the requested information on a refund envelope that can be found on top of some vending machines. Vending personnel will pick up the refund envelopes; the refunds will be inserted and the refund envelopes will be dropped off at the Security Office within a week. Students can then claim their refund at the Security Office or Student Activities office.
Fundraising
Student organizations may conduct fundraisers with the approval of the club advisor, club leaders, and the Student Activities Coordinator. Fundraising events held on campus will be conducted in the student lounge in Martin Hall. The Student Activities Coordinator maintains a planning calendar for coordinating fundraising events held in the lounge. Usually, only one event per day is allowed, so that profits are maximized for the group efforts invested.
For more information or scheduling a fundraiser, please contact Rod Reedy, Student Activities Coordinator, at rreedy@nr.edu (540) 674-3600, extension 4358, or visit the Student Activities Office located in the Student Lounge, Martin Hall. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
