Project Management: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

The Certified Associate in Project Management - CAPM® shows the world that you possess the foundational knowledge and skills that project based roles demand. It proves that you are ready to take on ways of working that include predictive project management, agile principles and business analysis. Earning your CAPM equips you with all you need to start a career in project management.

Course Objectives:

  • instruct participants to understand and apply project management frameworks
  • provide input so participants are able to describe the “What?”, “Why?” and “How?” of project management process
  • use the approach of “doing” by providing real project examples and templates to help take the participant from the learning mode to the doing mode in their professional and personal lives.
  • provide participants with the knowledge needed to apply for and take the certified associate in project management (CAPM®) exam.

To sit for the exam, you must meet the following CAPM requirements:

  • Have a secondary degree, such as a high school diploma, GED (general educational development), or global equivalent
  • Have at least 23 hours of project management education completed before the exam (CAPM Exam Prep Course can fulfill this requirement)

 

FastForward programs: Courses offered under these programs are designed to be completed on a short-term basis (weeks or months as opposed to one-two years of study). These courses are tied to industry credentials. Students in FastForward programs also benefit from significant cost reductions. Subject to the availability of funds, Virginia students pay only one-third of the normal cost of training. Many students also qualify for financial assistance (FANTIC) to help cover the remaining cost.
