G3 Eligible Program: The G3 Program is a tuition assistance program for any Virginia resident who qualifies for in-state tuition and whose family income falls below an identified threshold. For more information, visit www.nr.edu/g3.  

Purpose: This AAS degree gives students skills to obtain entry-level employment as a full stack developer at many local and national companies who are seeking this specialized type of employee.  Students will learn to develop front-end client web applications using technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, and React.  Students will learn to develop back-end server software using technologies such as PHP, Java, Python, Node.js, SQL, cloud infrastructures, and databases.

Occupational Objectives: Full stack web developers, front-end client-side developers, back-end server-side developers, web designers, and web programmers.

Admission Requirements: Students who plan to transfer to a four-year college after completing AAS degree requirements should inform their faculty advisors at the beginning of studies to determine the appropriate courses that meet transfer requirements.

Program Requirements: The Full Stack Developer specialization is a two-year program combining instruction required for competence as a back-end and front-end developer in a business environment. Students will learn the fundamentals to develop web-based applications using technologies such as server-side programming, database design and development, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, SQL, JavaScript, Python and Java. Students are trained in a variety of cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services.

Students who plan to transfer after completing the degree should consult their IT Faculty Advisor at the beginning of studies to determine appropriate transfer course requirements.

Students may choose MTH 161 , MTH 167 , MTH 263  as an alternative to MTH 154 .
Students may choose from college approved Social Science or Humanities/Fine Arts Requirements in the catalog.
